Remembrance Day
Mike Bellamy thanked all Rotarians as well as our guest speaker Roma Britnell for attending the Remembrance Day ceremony earlier today at the RSL. This year the ceremony acknowledged those service personnel who had served in a “20 year” war. Unfortunately, the sudden withdrawal from some theatres of war have left significant impacts on a number of our veterans.

Mike also invited Rotarians to participate in a “Walking off the War Within” project on Sunday 21 November at Lake Pertobe with the aim to encourage participation and raise money to support RSL projects. Another RSL fundraising initiative scheduled for the evening of Saturday 27 November was a Jericho Cup Dinner. Guest speaker is Anthony “Harry” Moffit, a former SAS operative who has served in a number of theatres of war. This fundraiser will assist programs for young veterans. The Jericho Cup is on Sunday 29 November. For further details, please contact Mike and/or refer to the poster attached to last week’s Bulletin.
