Water East Timor
Bill Hewett (International Director) said that he had received thanks from Water East Timor for RCWE support ($12,000) in previous year. An important factor is that locals in Timor Leste have been trained and are now able to do many of the hands-on jobs themselves.

Cliff Heath advised that there was a Bunnings BBQ Roster circulating – for Sunday 27 August 
 
Youth & Vocational Update
 
A letter received from One Day Studios saying thank you for $1,000 donation which will be used to purchase a camera-equipped drone which will extend the experience of the students involved.
 
Jace Nepean whom we had sponsored to the National Youth Science Forum had received a Premier’s 
VCE Award in French, following on from his award in Physics last year. Jace is currently studying a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) – Science at Australian National University in Canberra.
 
Volcanic Produce organic farm at Illowa has teamed up with Hands On Learning ($1,000 support in 
2022-2023) to assist with harvesting of produce for donation to Food Share. Volcanic Produce is owned by Ben Pohlner who was a member of RCWE 2008-2012.

Since August is “membership month”, here is some more membership information – this time about the size of clubs in our District.
 
For administrative purposes Rotary International divides the Rotary Clubs of the world into Districts. In this way, Rotary Club of Warrnambool East is one of 52 clubs in District 9780 which stretches from Lara in the east to Millicent in the west; from the coast in the south to the Murray River at Kerang and Swan Hill in the north. The total membership of the District is 1299.
 
The largest club in District 9780 is Ocean Grove with 61 members, followed by Wendouree Breakfast with 53. There are three clubs with membership in the forties (Ballarat, Ballarat South & Warrnambool Central).
 
RCWE with 36 members is one of thirteen clubs in the thirties.
 
There are 17 clubs with membership in the twenties, 13 in the teens, and 4 with ten or less members.
 
Since August is “membership month” continued, here is some more membership information – this time about the longest serving members of RCWE. The following current members have served Rotary through the Rotary Club of Warrnambool East for 30 years or more:-
